Ocean City Maryland’s 2014 Special Event calendar has arrived! New Year’s day began with the annual Penguin Swim in front of the Princess Royale Hotel on 91st St. The after party was at Bull on the Beach on 94th St. and the celebrations continued at BJ’s on the Water, Fager’s Island and Seacrets.  On the second weekend of February the Ocean City Convention Center hosts the Seaside Boat Show featuring 150 exhibitors and 350 boats.  The next weekend the cheerleaders from across the mid Atlantic take over OC for the Reach the Beach Recreation and School Nationals. The Cheerleaders will return March 14th – 16th for the Dance Finals.  St.  Patrick’s Day is the main event at the beach in March.  Ocean City has an impressive array of floats and displays marching down Coastal Highway to celebrate the event and many of the local bars serve Green Beer and Irish Dishes.  Johnny’s Pizza is a popular stop along the Parade route and the after parties are at Shenanigan’s on 4th St. and Seacrets.

The Ocean City Bridal Show is the “Must Attend” event of the Year for any Bride considering a Wedding near the Beach

Spring officially kicks off with the Ocean City Bridal Show.   The OC Bridal Show is the premier event of the year for any Bride considering a Beach Wedding.  There will be vendors from all across Delmarva showing the best that the coasts of Maryland and Delaware have to offer.  There will be a fashion expo, entertainment and giveaways including a free Caribbean Cruise for two from Wedding Officiant Sean Rox.  The show is on Sunday April 13th at Seacrets from 1-4 PM and is produced by Rox Beach Weddings of Ocean City.  Look for the Bridal Show commercials on the local Delmarva  stations as well as ads in the Salisbury, Bethany Beach, Worcester, Wicomico and Rehoboth media.  Tickets are $10 at the door or $8 if you buy in advance online.

On April 18th- 19th the OC Convention Center celebrates Easter on the Beach followed by the Ocean City Job Fair- a the job fair is a great opportunity for college kids to find a summer job at local hotels and restaurants at the beach and on the boardwalk.  April 26th is the Worcester County Humane Society’s Boardwalkin’ for Pets. On May 3rd, Berlin MD has its Blues & Jazz Bash on Main St.  May 4th through the 18th is Restaurant Week in Ocean City.  Participating restaurants are offering fixed price two and three course meals- a great way to save money while sampling the best beach venues.

On May 10th Somerset Plaza in downtown OC kicks off the summer with the White Marlin Festival & Crab Soup cook off.  Prizes are awarded to the best Maryland Crab (red) and Cream of Crab (white) contestants.  Register early and you can be a guest judge for the festivities!  The following weekend is Cruiser Week beginning on Thursday May 15th.  You can’t miss these custom classic cars and hot rods rumbling down Coastal Highway.  On Saturday May 31st  the council of Raven’s Roosts hosts the Baltimore Ravens annual parade.  The parade begins late in the morning on Johnny Unitas Way (19th St.) and finishes up on 26th st. Players and cheerleaders will be there and this is a great opportunity to get pictures and autographs.

The Ocean City Air Show is June 14th – 15th. The place to be is the Courtyard Marriott on 15th st. on the boardwalk for the best view of the fighter jets, pilots, parachuters and aerial acrobatics that will be taking place high above the Atlantic Ocean.   A few days later the Maryland State Fire Fighter’s Association rolls into town for a week long event that bring hundreds of engines to town including a parade down Coastal Highway. June 21st – 22nd is the OC Car & Truck Show.  This massive automotive lifestyle festival fills Ocean City with  trick trucks, crazy tunners, exotics, hot rods and bikes.

Fourth of July Festivities commence with three Firework displays in OC as well as another in downtown Rehoboth Beach.  The Town of Ocean City sponsors all out displays and Expos at Northside Park on 125th St. as well as a Premier Show at the downtown inlet.  The Coconut Malorie Hotel has views to these Premier Events.
